Sam has 25 years of executive experience in the energy industry where he was one of the early pioneers in understanding and advancing the role of Advanced Analytics Machine Learning and Blockchain in multiple Energy segments.
Sam has worked for national and multinational companies, such as ABB, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Kongsberg Digital and recently Accenture LLP providing his consultative experience to major and independent E&P companies. Currently, he is a partner at Capstone Energy Consulting, specializing in strategy & digital transformation for small and medium enterprises that serve the energy market.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He serves on the advisory team for Houston Exponential and MIT Enterprise Forum of Texas. Malek is an 18+ years Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer veteran for privately and publicly held firms. His experience spans raising capital, mergers and acquisitions across the U.S., Vietnam, Mexico and Central America in manufacturing, Oil & Gas, SaaS, electronics and healthcare industries. He assumed executive roles in Enron, Dynegy, Lucas Energy and Dynamic Health Strategies. Malek speaks French, Spanish, served on the board of the National Kidney Foundation (Southeast Texas Region), is currently an Assistant Scout Master and was Chairman of the 3,800 member Aggie Professional Forum. Pete has 25+ years of Senior Executive experience working for Chevron Phillips Chemicals, Cooper Industries, Yokogawa Corp, Invensys-SIMSCI & Westinghouse and is well versed in the development of strategic business plans to solve challenging problems, delivery of on time projects, growing sales and profits in the Oil & Gas, Downstream, Midstream, Upstream, LNG, Petrochemical & Refining.
He is a very effective communicator and understands how to execute strategy. He has comprehensive experience in managing, negotiation, execution of Main Automation Projects (MAC), supply chain management (SCM), including P&L responsibility for capital budgets at multiple national & international locations, restructured & created organizations in United States, Canada, Central & South America, transforming them into profit generating entities through management expertise. He has designed, developed, marketed multiple FM Approved Class I Div 1 industrial products & software (MES & OTS) securing 5 patents & one patent pending.

Mr. Brooksbank has extensive experience in multiple industries including energy, process control, industrial cooling and commercial air conditioning (HVAC). He began his career at Exxon and has held senior management positions in multiple segments of the energy industry including oil refining and marketing, gas processing, petrochemical manufacturing and pipeline operations with companies such as Tenneco Oil Company, Tenneco Gas Pipeline and Honeywell Process Systems.
While at Tenneco Gas Pipeline, he was responsible for sales and business development activities that generated over $400 million per year in revenue and over $40 million in annual operating income. At Honeywell, he led a business unit that provided turnkey automation systems and services to the global oil and gas pipeline industry. Early in his career, he served in marketing at Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC), a global manufacturer of cooling towers, evaporative condensers and heat exchangers.
Currently, Mr. Brooksbank is Managing Director of DPG Energy & Natural Resources and Director of DPG Corporate Advisors, the corporate finance unit of DPG Investments which is a diverse merchant banking, alternative investment and advisory firm.
He is also the Founder and President of Epsys International, an international crude oil and refined products brokerage firm and project development company, and Tramoor Group LLC, a management consulting firm that consults with energy and technology companies in the areas of strategic planning, business development, project development, strategic alliances, marketing and finance.
Mr. Brooksbank holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
